Compact Commercial Dehumidification for Ceiling and Short-Duct Installations

The YTE-CDH-50L is a compact ceiling-mounted refrigeration dehumidifier designed for commercial, technical and controlled-environment applications where effective humidity control is required without occupying valuable floor space.

Rated at 50 L/day at 30°C / 80%RH, the unit combines approximately 350 m³/h circulating airflow with a compact chassis measuring approximately 680 × 280 × 326.4 mm.

Its horizontal straight-through airflow architecture makes the unit suitable for direct ceiling installation, ceiling grille integration and short-duct applications.

For projects requiring external environmental control, the YTE-CDH-50L can also be configured with 24V dry-contact control or RS485 communication, allowing the dehumidifier to become part of a larger building or environmental-control system. These interfaces are project options and must be specified when ordering.

50 L/Day Rated Dehumidification Capacity

The YTE-CDH-50L provides a rated moisture-removal capacity of:

50 L/day at 30°C / 80%RH

This rating represents the specified reference test condition.

Actual dehumidification capacity changes with room temperature and relative humidity. As temperature or RH decreases, the amount of moisture that can be removed per day will normally decrease as well.

For this reason, YTE recommends selecting the unit according to the actual moisture load and operating conditions rather than relying only on nominal capacity or room floor area.

Compact 680 mm Ceiling-Mounted Chassis

One of the main advantages of the YTE-CDH-50L is its compact form factor.

The approximate unit dimensions are:

680 × 280 × 326.4 mm

Installing the dehumidifier overhead helps preserve floor area for equipment, storage, production, circulation and maintenance access.

This makes the unit particularly suitable for applications where available floor space is limited but a permanently installed humidity-control system is preferred over portable floor-standing equipment.

Horizontal Straight-Through Airflow

The YTE-CDH-50L uses a horizontal straight-through airflow architecture.

Moist room air enters through the return side of the unit, passes across the refrigeration heat exchangers and leaves through the opposite supply side.

This configuration provides a predictable airflow path and supports compact ceiling-mounted layouts.

The published air interfaces are approximately:

Air Interface Dimension
Return-Air Opening 270 × 230 mm
Supply-Air Clear Opening 240 × 212 mm
Supply-Air Outer Connection 280 × 249 mm

The straight-through configuration is suitable for direct airflow as well as short duct connections.

Approx. 350 m³/h Circulating Airflow

The YTE-CDH-50L provides approximately:

350 m³/h / 206 CFM

of circulating airflow.

This airflow moves room air continuously through the refrigeration system so moisture can be condensed and removed.

The unit should be positioned so that humid room air can freely reach the return inlet and the treated air can redistribute through the space.

If stronger room-wide circulation or outdoor air exchange is required, separate circulation, exhaust or fresh-air equipment should be designed as part of the complete air-treatment system.

Three Control Configurations

The YTE-CDH-50L can be configured according to the control strategy of the project.

Standard Local Humidity Control

The standard configuration uses the machine’s local humidity-control panel.

This is appropriate for stand-alone rooms and applications where the dehumidifier operates independently according to its own humidity sensor and setpoint.

Optional 24V Dry-Contact Control

For projects using an external environmental controller or central control system, an optional 24V dry-contact interface can be specified.

The external controller can then provide the dehumidification enable/disable command.

This is a simple and robust option when digital communication is not required.

Optional RS485 Communication

For more integrated environmental-control projects, the unit can also be configured with RS485 communication.

RS485 identifies the physical communication interface only.

It should not automatically be described as Modbus RTU, BACnet or another specific communication protocol unless the protocol, register map, baud rate, device address and required functions have been confirmed for the ordered controller.

Local Panel Retained for Diagnostics

When an external control option is selected, operating authority is transferred to the external controller.

In this configuration, the local control panel is no longer the normal operating controller.

However, YTE recommends retaining the original panel where possible because it can remain useful for displaying machine fault or diagnostic codes during troubleshooting.

This provides a practical separation between:

External Controller — Operational Control

and

Local Panel — Diagnostic Reference

Two Defrost Configurations

The YTE-CDH-50L platform can be configured with two different defrost systems according to the operating environment.

Standard Off-Cycle Air Defrost

The standard version stops the compressor during a defrost requirement while allowing the circulation fan to continue moving room air across the evaporator.

This configuration is suitable for applications with relatively stable room temperatures.

Optional Four-Way Valve Low-Temperature Defrost

For environments where temperature drops are more common or evaporator frosting occurs more frequently, a four-way valve low-temperature defrost configuration can be selected.

The reversing valve changes refrigerant flow during defrost to transfer heat toward the evaporator and accelerate frost removal.

Normal moisture removal is still interrupted during the defrost cycle, so this should not be confused with a continuous low-temperature heat-recovery dehumidification architecture.

Refrigeration Dehumidification

The YTE-CDH-50L uses a conventional refrigeration dehumidification process.

Humid air passes across the cold evaporator, where water vapor condenses into liquid condensate.

The collected water is discharged through the drainage system.

The dried air then passes across the condenser, where refrigeration-system heat is returned to the treated airflow before the air is discharged back into the room.

Because refrigeration dehumidifiers release sensible heat into the treated air, the room HVAC system should consider this heat contribution when designing temperature control.

Continuous Direct Drainage

The YTE-CDH-50L is designed for continuous condensate removal rather than manual water-tank emptying.

The drain outlet is approximately:

Ø16 mm

The condensate line can be connected to a suitable floor drain, dedicated condensate pipe, HVAC drainage system, external collection point or condensate pump.

For gravity drainage, the pipe should maintain an appropriate downward slope and remain free from reverse gradients, air locks, kinks and blockage.

Multi-Condition Power Reference

Electrical power consumption varies according to operating conditions.

The published platform data provides the following references:

Operating Condition Approx. Input Power
27°C / 60%RH 650 W
30°C / 80%RH 780 W
35°C / 90%RH — Maximum Reference 980 W

Using different operating-condition power values is more technically accurate than publishing one fixed wattage because refrigeration-system load changes with temperature and humidity.

Worldwide Electrical Configurations

The YTE-CDH-50L can be produced for different regional electrical projects.

Available project classes include:

100–127V

and

220–240V

with 50Hz / 60Hz configurations depending on the destination project.

Plug type, cable arrangement, hardwire connection and electrical labeling can also be configured for the destination market.

Final power, current, compressor, fan motor and protection components must follow the approved order configuration and the rating plate on the delivered machine.

Suitable Applications

The YTE-CDH-50L is positioned as a compact commercial ceiling-mounted dehumidifier rather than a cultivation-only product.

Typical applications include small commercial rooms, storage areas, technical rooms, archives, laboratories, utility spaces, compact production rooms, controlled-environment agriculture, indoor growing facilities, localized high-humidity zones and other spaces where overhead equipment installation is preferred.

It can also be integrated with short ductwork where the airflow resistance remains within an appropriate range.

Short-Duct Integration

The YTE-CDH-50L can operate with direct air discharge or with short duct connections.

Long or highly restrictive ductwork can reduce airflow through the evaporator and condenser and consequently reduce dehumidification performance.

The system design should therefore avoid unnecessarily small ducts, excessive duct length, multiple sharp elbows, restrictive grilles, collapsed flexible ducts and abrupt transitions.

For more complex duct systems, airflow and external static pressure should be reviewed before installation.

Installation Considerations

The unit should be suspended from a structurally suitable frame, bracket, platform or engineered suspension system rather than decorative ceiling panels.

The machine should remain level after installation.

Adequate clearance should be retained around the return inlet, supply outlet, electrical compartment, compressor, heat exchangers and service panels.

The drainage route and slope should also be planned before the unit is mounted.

Correct equipment placement is important: humid room air must be able to reach the return inlet, while the drier discharge air must be able to re-enter the room’s circulation pattern.

Selecting the Correct Capacity

A dehumidifier should not be selected only according to room area.

For more accurate sizing, YTE recommends evaluating room dimensions, room volume, current temperature and RH, target RH, ventilation rate, outdoor-air infiltration, moisture generation, process conditions, operating schedule and HVAC interaction.

A 50 L/day rating does not mean the unit removes 50 litres of moisture every 24 hours under every operating condition.

The stated capacity is measured at 30°C / 80%RH. Moisture-removal capacity will normally decrease at lower temperature and lower relative humidity.
